Welcome to the Grand Hotel Baglioni
in Florence...
Just a couple of minutes walk from the Duomo, monuments, shops
and museums, the Grand Hotel Baglioni is perfectly situated
in the heart of Florence. The Grand Hotel Baglioni boasts
a rich history; it was the residence of the Carrega Bertolini
noble family and is the oldest Hotel in town. In 1902, Prince
Carrega di Lucedio moved to Rome, and convinced the Baglioni family
to turn the imposing and historic building into a hotel. Officially
opened in 1903, on the feast of Saint Claire, the Grand
Hotel Baglioni was inaugurated and opened its doors to princes
and travellers alike.
Hotel History
In centuries past, floods and wars have been
resisted by this historical building, and it has remained one
of the premium resting spots for itinerant travellers. In previous
ages the Grand Hotel Baglioni has offered bed and board to eminent
guests such as King Umberto I, Marconi the famous scientist
who invented the radio, the composer Puccini
and writers of note like Trilussa, Pirandello and D’Annunzio.
Built and laid out in the traditional Tuscan architectural and
decorative style, the Grand Hotel Baglioni also embraces modernity
with everything today’s traveller has come to expect. The
hotel boasts 193 recently renovated and refurbished rooms, all
with wood beam ceilings, original leaded panes and are decorated
in traditional Tuscan style. Lacunar ceilings, parquet floors
and leaded windows combine perfectly with the understated Tuscan
tones, mahogany furniture and Florentine ceramics to create charming
and elegant yet simple surroundings that both welcome and relax
our guests.

We have taken advantage of all modernity has

to Internet in our Wi-Fi areas and in the rooms,
we have seven newly renovated Conference Halls able to cater to
any form of event or presentation. Ranging from 400 to 40 depending
on needs, we can host and cater for varying sized groups with
ease, professionalism and quality.
